as does watching videos of Josh Groban on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and The Smiths...
(and you too Rick Genest)
This man fascinates me.
If we were to meet, and I might be so lucky as for him to remove his clothing (in the least pervy way), I could quite happily spend days inspecting his tattoos. They are so intriguing.
And of course we all know Mugler and Gaga are fans.
I love the idea of stories and memories and untold meanings and mystery attached to them...
and always did love Wentworth Miller as Michael Schofield in Prison Break.
Considering the origins of this blog lie in the depths of my frequent procrastination, God (or whoever it is these days) only knows why there isnt more of it.
So I have a photographic essay due for a few days time which I am keen to forget about entirely.
BUT ALAS!
These things have to be done for the sake of my degree and what not.
And so with the aim as to go back to it with renewed vigor after posting some wonderful creative thingies, I shall begin.
Pakayla Biehn was bought to my attention this week by none other than the TOPSHOP creative blogging team.
Her beautiful paintings (yes thats right, she painted these marvellous visuals), have the immediate attraction that multiple nagative/exposures always hold for me, but the vivid colours and startlingly realist images are just stunning. Entirely ethereal and delicate, you can find her work HERE.
Along the same lines, though certainly photographic, is the work of Teirney Gearon's 'Explosure' series from 2009, which I saw originally in exhibited in London at the time. Having come up in conversation with my tutor this week I wanted to revisit the juxtapositioning between the subjects in these images as I contemplate my own ideas.
Although this is certainly nothing new, I enjoy the series nevertheless, check out the full collection and Teirneys other work HERE.
Currently based in Falmouth (place where dreams are made and hearts are broken) Cornwall. Love to support a very talented photographer from my old streets :-) ... (also a massive fan of the fact that the girl in this image looks like Laura Marling)
"Occassionally my camera gets the roll jammed. I generally just keep shooting."
with the delectable Karen Elson, who is not only an Iconic English Redhead Model, (those words enough tinge me green) but also a talented musician and gorgeous vintage store owner. Not that I am jealous IN THE SLIGHTEST.
That should do me for now, I will prance about to her album for a short while before getting back on the lame mule that is my essay.
PS. definately going to attempt the above in the future... predictable but...
